Another key priority is to establish the committees that are needed to support our planning
for the events of the weekend. We are seeking classmates who would like to volunteer to serve
on a committee or step forward to chair one.

Chairs & Committees We Need
Costume Committee
- Selects desired parade costume in class color
- Determines approximate cost and reports figure to the reunion chair for inclusion in class fee
- Communicates with vendor to determine order timeline for timely delivery
- Determines the order quantity based on registration numbers and accounts for late registration
Hospitality Committee
- Arranges a reception committee to greet classmates upon arrival in the class headquarters
- Determines suitable welcome area in the main foyer of the class headquarters.

- Distributing name tags for doors
- Secures class memorabilia from the College Archives or classmates, sets up exhibits and arranges for return of articles after Reunion.
- Notifies the reunion chair if other special items are needed.
Program Committee (may need sub-committees for different
nights)
- Plans and coordinates the after-dinner program for Saturday night and any other class-specific programming assigned to the program chair
- Notifies the reunion chair of costs for inclusion in the class fee
- Notifies the reunion chair of special equipment needs
Social Committee
- Plans and coordinates the pre-dinner programming for Friday and/or Saturday
- Works with the reunion chair on the budget
- Notifies the reunion chair of costs for inclusion in the class fee
- Notifies the reunion chair of special equipment needs
- Works with Event Services to make any food and beverage arrangements
- Confirms with class president regarding invitations to honoraries; may provide flowers and/or transportation, if appropriate.
- Plans decorations
Sign Committee
- Solicits ideas from classmates for inclusion on new signs
- Determines what signs from previous Reunions (stored by the Association) will be reused and which can be recycled
- Determines if additional stakes will be needed for class-produced signs
- Submits final copy via the Parade Sign Order Form by the deadline and requests any additional stakes needed
Remote/Virtual Reunion Participation Committee
- Solicits ideas on ways for alums who are not attending the reunion in person to connect to some of the events happening on campus (zoom, video, other)
- To identify key parts of the weekend activities that may be appropriate to consider for connecting those not attending in person
- To explore ideas to help those who cannot attend to feel that their voices are heard and matter to their classmates (maybe have them submit a 30-60 second video in advance of reunion on something like, “what MHC meant to me” and possibly set up a way for those in attendance to share back (following reunion) a compiled to those who were on campus.
