2020 has been a year like no other. Like so many individuals, Mount Holyoke College has faced immense challenges that could not have been foreseen a year ago. We would like to deeply thank all of you who gave so generously last year to help sustain the College during this difficult time. With your help, MHC continued to provide an extraordinary educational experience with creative, new approaches to allow this safely under COVID-19 guidelines. Many of you were very generous in helping MHC transition to a virtual campus educational environment. We are pleased to report that for last fiscal year we donated $237,632 and increased our participation rate to 35% of our class. For FY 2021, we are aiming for a 36% participation rate and dollar goal of $225,000. You will be contacted directly by the College at several points this year to donate funds, but we just wanted to add our own thoughts about supporting our alma mater. During the College’s September Volunteer Conference, we were impressed with its approach to virtual classes and the passion to create effective methods to foster student intellectual growth. We discussed other forms of engagement for our alums in addition to financial support. We can all help by staying connected to each other, being ambassadors for all that MHC has meant to us, supporting students with career advice or internships, or inspiring student athletes. Particularly in this time where we are all relatively secluded, reach out to a past classmate or check out informative videos on the MHC website. When you are ready, you can make your gift online at mtholyoke.edu/go/mhcgive. The College’s area of focus for donations this year will be scholarship aid. However, based on your interests and how you would like to support MHC, there are a number of different giving destinations to consider. We sincerely thank you for your past support and for keeping Mount Holyoke in mind as you consider your charitable giving again this year. Please reach out to either of us for any additional information. Be loud and proud about our alma mater! All our best, |
