Our Classmate, Nicky Mesiah

Hello classmates, many of you may have already seen this on our Class Facebook page, Mount Holyoke Class of 1977 (https://www.facebook.com/groups/469659729718169) but now that we have easy access to these eblasts to the entire class, I wanted to share some very sad news …our dear dear friend, Nicky Mesiah, passed away March 29th, losing her very courageous fight with breast cancer.

I know many of you knew Nicky well, and this will come as a shock, but I know Nicky wants everyone to remember her as the fun, outgoing, strong woman that she was. And I know we will all remember her delicious toffee that she brought to reunion every time. I ADORED Nicky and my heart is breaking.

And please note: In the future, as I learn of the passing of any of our classmates (and sometimes this takes time since it comes from the Alumnae Association), I will use this forum to share the news with the Class. Also, if any of you learn this type of news, please contact me at once so I can share the information in a timely way ([email protected]).

With sadness,

Liz

As a follow-up to Liz’s e-blast, we would like to include some words and memories about Nicky in the next edition of the Alumnae Quarterly. Nicky was a bright light whose warmth touched all whoever came into contact with her and her loss is incalculable. We would like to include some words and memories about Nicky in the next edition of the Alumnae Quarterly.  We are inviting those friends who were particularly close with Nicky (although anyone who ever spoke with her felt that way!) to pen some words.  Our deadline is April 20th.  Please send your thoughts and memories to us at [email protected]

Warmly,

Nancy and Andi
