The countdown has begun! Our 45th reunion is less than four months away. We hope many of you already have the dates marked on your calendar and are as excited for the reunion as your Reunion Committee. If you are still undecided, hopefully this letter will convince you that South Hadley is the place to be May 27-29, 2022!
Reunion Plans
The weekend always provides countless opportunities to re-engage with the campus, classmates and the larger Mount Holyoke community. There’s time to stroll around enjoying our campus in springtime splendor while experiencing the peace and tranquility of Upper Lake, marveling at the Chihuly sculpture in the Williston library or exploring Blanchard Campus Center. The schedule provides time to engage with classmates from college days as well as form new connections with classmates you may not have known. There’s something for everyone! In addition to class social hour activities, we are planning a golf outing on Friday morning and bird watching on Sunday morning.
In reality, what is going to make this reunion a great one is YOUR attendance. If you haven’t already, contact some friends and start making your plans. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience Mount Holyoke College!
Registration and Scholarships
The college has made some changes since our last reunion. Online registration will begin on March 8th. You will notice that there have been changes to the overall cost of Reunion to make it more accessible for everyone. Our class will continue to offer financial help for classmates who may find it difficult to attend the reunion this year.
For confidential help, please contact Luisa Tavares in the Alumnae Office, 413-538-2201 or [email protected].
This reunion, all meals will be served in the dining commons allowing us to have a taste of the student experience and meet alumnae from other classes.
Finally, Mount Holyoke will continue to update COVID-19 Information at https://www.mtholyoke.edu/opening-gates/guest-and-visitor-policy.
Supporting Mount Holyoke
Each year, gifts to the Mount Holyoke Fund support scholarship aid, internship and research opportunities, athletics, academic programming and more. Have YOU donated yet? This donation is a wonderful way to honor the difference Mount Holyoke made in your life. So far, 23% of our classmates have donated and we’re hoping to get to 45% in honor of our 45th reunion. A generous total of nearly $143k has been donated towards our dollar amount goal of $300,000. Another great time to donate is coming up with the March4MHC event on March 3/4 this year. That is a challenging event with a chance to earn additional award dollars for our class total. Details will be coming soon from our class agents.
Virtual Mini-Reunion Events Coming Up
As we look forward to longer, warmer days your class has planned three virtual events guaranteed to have all of us excited for the reunion! Please consider joining us for one or more of these events even if you can’t attend the reunion this year! The first will be a virtual trivia night on February 27th. Our host will handle all the logistics and all you need to do is show up with the beverage of your choice and have a good time. The second event is designed for all you “want to be” makers out there. Simonne Roy will virtually lead us in creating a watercolor scene of the Williston Reading Room. Her depth of knowledge is translating to a no-fail experience for the rest of us. Sign up for both events can be found on our class website https://new.alumnae.mtholyoke.edu/1977/ as well as on our class Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/469659729718169. Suzanne Berry Duncan has organized a Knit Along project that’s accessible to all knitting levels! She has even found an MHC-owned knit shop for ordering the yarn at a discount! Please email Suzanne directly at [email protected] to join this group.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the reunion, please contact one of the Reunion Chairs – Janet Connell or Susan Colgan by clicking here. We can’t wait to see you!
With warmest regards,
Janet and Susan
